On-board device detection system
DSRC RSU Italy is a device (also called DSRC Italy antenna) that supports both electronic tolling standards in force in Italy (ETSI ES 200 674-1 and UNI 10607) via DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication) technology in the 5.8 GHz band.
DSRC RSU TC278 handles radio-frequency remote sensing of in-vehicle equipment dedicated to toll payment in Italy (whether to the UNI 10607 standard or SET standard, meaning ETSI ES 200 674-1).
When a vehicle equipped with a tag enters the dialog zone of the DSRC RSU Italy, its identification number is read and sent to the tolling system, which charges the toll fee to the user.
Data transmitted by the tag can also be used for traffic monitoring and management.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
- Working frequency: 5.8 GHz
- Reception sensitivity:< -98 dBm
- Linux Operating System
- Made of metal and plastic for outdoor use
- Mains or PoE power supply
- Handles the entire DSRC transaction with in-vehicle and tolling devices
- Complies with the requirements of the freeway toll collection system, parking lots and access control in Italy.
Available in two types, for Stop&Go lanes and for Free Flow lanes, it adapts the coverage area to the size of the lane and the transit speed of vehicles.
Benefits
Improved efficiency
Higher tolling system efficiency and lower operating costs.
Quick payment
Shorter waiting times in toll lanes thanks to radio-frequency data exchange in real time.
Improved mobility
Increased traffic flow.
Environmental impact
Environmental impact: Lower CO2 emissions.
Applications
DSRC RSU Italy for electronic tolling is a reliable and robust device that can be used for a variety of applications on the Italian market, such as::
- Toll collection on freeway lanes with toll booths.
- Toll collection in Free Flow systems
- Parking payment
- Access control (e.g. interports, condominiums, restricted traffic zones, etc.)
The DSRC Italy antenna can also be installed along freeway sections to monitor traffic and travel times anonymously using in-vehicle tag data..
